Our Story

Our cattle are raised the way Mother Nature intended them to be, on grass.  They graze native prairie in the summer and are fed hay in the winter.  They receive no grain or grain by-products, no antibiotics, no hormones and there are no chemicals used on our land or livestock.

Feiring’s Grassfed Beef is made up of Donnie, Trisha, Harley and Taylor.  Donnie and I have been ranching ever since each of us was old enough to own a cow. We have cattle in our blood and love raising them.  We take pride in the fact that our cattle are raised in a regenerative and holistic manner.  We believe that if we take care of the soil, the soil will take care of us.  The soil feeds the grass, the grass feeds the cattle and the cattle feed us.  If the soil is healthy, the cattle are healthy and then we, as humans, will be healthy.

Our beef is raised with love and care for both the land and the livestock.  We are proud to say that our ranch raises Audubon Certified Bird Friendly Beef.  This certification promotes ranches across the United States that have developed a grazing management system that benefit targeted grassland bird species.  This allows consumers to purchase beef from ranches that promote good grassland stewardship and the propagation of various species of wildlife.

Eggs

Our hens are raised on open pasture, with no fences, during the warmer months and then are housed in a 50 x 50 hoop building in the winter with the option to roam free if they so choose.  They are fed a ground feed mixture primarily consisting of corn with a mineral pack added.  Our customers rave about the dark yellow yolks from our eggs.  When chickens are raised in a pasture setting, they consume a higher concentration of grass, bugs and insects in their diet.  Grass contains chlorophyll, which in turn produces a darker yellow yolk.
